May Results

Attendees: Mac Traven, Bonnie Lass, Black Jack Spencer, Jack Jones, T.W. Reynolds, Pete Gabriel, Arivaipa Al, Double Shot Dot, Rattlesnake Will, Jake Belcher, Samuel Cy Jesse, Ghost Shooter David Barbour and Mike Standford.

The morning was cloudy, cold and windy. The sky looked like rain, but as the day went on it warmed up and cleared off. This was very helpful for the shooters (see the clean stage winners!!!!)

David Barbour and Mike Standford came to shoot with us for their first cowboy shooting experience. Ghost Shooter came to shoot our match. Thanks for coming hope you enjoyed the shoot. Please come back again!

May Notes

We started shooting through the saloon doors and continued to shoot the rustlers. We used the can throwers as optional knockdowns with a hit to the can for another shotgun target. We had a lot of fun and even used Pepe the mule for one stage. We had to sit at a table and answer for cheating one scenario.

It seemed that everyone was doing very well with the scenarios. It sounds like next month things are going to have to be more difficult.

We did record procedurals and just marked a “P” on the score sheet and informed the shooter so they could work on following through with the directions.

Important Note: We will be recording procedurals starting with our first match this spring!!! We will be counting the procedurals starting with the Ambush at Hickory Ridge in August!!!!!!

Clean Stage Winners

This month almost every shooter had at least one clean stage.

David Barbour had 5 clean stages!!!!! These people each had 4 clean stages: Aravaipa Al and Rattlesnake Will. This group had 3 clean stages: Pete Gabriel, Jack Jones, Black Jack Spencer and T.W. Reynolds. This posse had 2 clean stages: Samuel Cy Jesse, Double Shot Dot and Mike Standford. Last but not least, these people had one clean stage: Bonnie Lass and Jake Belcher.

Please congratulate these people if you see them as they worked hard to get a clean stage or more!!!

This year, we have ordered buffaloes that will be painted white so that if you get a clean match you will get a white buffalo to wear.

Found Ambush Cooks !!! Need Friday and Saturday cooks.

We have decided to go with Custom Catering out of Wellsboro to provide our Saturday night feast. Custom catering will provide us with 2 entrees : stuffed chicken breasts, sliced beef , mashed potatoes and gravy, corn , baked beans , rolls, cobbler, and sodas and coffee for $13 per person. This requires us to raise the cost of the shoot to $45 for the first shooter, $35 for each shooter over 13 years old and each extra dinner only will be $13. (Buckaroos and younger will cost $13 for their dinner.)

We need to have a way to feed the masses the rest of the weekend. West Branch suggested that we take up propane grills and make hot dogs and burgers on them. We could also offer soda and chips. Any ideas about breakfast on Saturday?

If you have any other ideas or agree with this one, please let Mac and Bonnie know, through email or phone.

Next Shoot is June 1, 2008

We will set up for the May shoot on Saturday May 31, if Mac is available. If you want to check if we will be setting up please call 723-8885 and ask for Mac or Bonnie. If you help set up you will be able to practice the scenarios for Sunday. We will start sign in at 8:30 AM and have the safety meeting at 9:30 AM. We will shoot lead at 10:00 AM. Please come join us for a great time!

We are trying to keep down the cost of postage, if you have email please send it so that we can email your newsletter. Thank-you for your co-operation!! To all who have given us their email address, Thank-you!!!!
