Attendees The weather was warm and stayed warm all day, it threatened to rain a couple of times but them blew over.
There aren’t as many clean stage winners as we had to work a little harder to follow the stage directions. June Notes We set up the doorway and window for the first 2 scenarios. These were stages modified from the 2008 Winter
Range shooters book. (Thank-you, J.D. Dillon). The first stage you had to move between the doorway and the window a couple
of times to use all your guns. The tough part was after shooting ten through the rifle then moving before single loading the
next four to shoot the bonus. Another stage we had to rope the steer (Slabsides) before starting our shooting string. Most
everyone did a good job of roping the steer!!! We did record procedurals and just marked a "P" on the score sheet and informed the shooter so they could
work on following through with the directions. Important Note: We will be recording procedurals starting with our first
match this spring!!! We will be counting the procedurals starting with the Ambush at Hickory Ridge in August!!!!!!
Clean Stage Winners These people each had 4 clean stages: Pete Gabriel, Mike Standford, Black Jack Spencer, and
Rattlesnake Will. This group had 3 clean stages: Samuel Cy Jesse, Jack Jones, Double Shot Dot and T.W. Reynolds. Dirty Dutch
had 2 clean stages. Please congratulate these people if you see them as they worked hard to get a clean stage or more!!! This year, we have ordered buffaloes that will be painted white so that if you get a clean match
you will get a white buffalo to wear.
New Year Schedules and Ambush Posters The 2008 shoot schedule posters need to be distributed to all your favorite haunts to attract more
cowboys! Please help put up posters!!! We now have the Ambush posters ready to hang. If you already have the 2008 posters
up please go back and ask if you can hang the Ambush poster. Thank-you for all your help! With your help we can help Whispering Pines Cowboy Committee grow!!!! 9th Annual Ambush at Hickory Ridge We would like you to get your local merchants involved in sponsoring our club. If you have anyone you
wish would offer a gift certificate or prize, please contact them or if you are shy, contact Bonnie Lass with the information

Also for sale is a pair of Buffalo Runner 18" tall cowboy boots, size 10 EE for $100. For More information and to see the guns or boots contact Terry Reynolds at (570) 376-2246. Found Ambush Cooks!!! Need Friday and Saturday cooks. We have decided to go with Custom Catering out of Wellsboro to provide our Saturday night feast. Custom catering
will provide us with 2 entrees: stuffed chicken breasts, sliced beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, baked beans,
rolls, cobbler, and sodas and coffee for $13 per person. This requires us to raise the cost of the
shoot to $45 for the first shooter, $35 for each shooter over 13 years old and each extra dinner only will be $13. (Buckaroos
and younger will cost $13 for their dinner.) We need to have a way to feed the masses the rest of the weekend. West Branch suggested that we take up propane grills
and make hot dogs and burgers on them. We could also offer soda and chips. Any ideas about breakfast on Saturday? If you have any other ideas or agree with this one, please let Mac and Bonnie know, through email or phone. Bring a Lunch!! Due to growing attendance, we kindly request that you bring a lunch for the one day shoots. This way we can take a break
between stages 3 and 4 while making any necessary prop changes. It will also help us not have other things on our minds while
we are shooting. Thank-you for your co-operation!!! Next Shoot is July 6, 2008 We will set up for the July shoot on Saturday July 5, if Mac is available. If you want to check if we will be setting up
please call 723-8885 and ask for Mac or Bonnie. If you help set up you will be able to practice the scenarios for Sunday.
On Sunday, we will start sign in at 8:30 AM and have the safety meeting at 9:30 AM. We will shoot lead at 10:00 AM. Please
come join us for a great time! We are trying to keep down the cost of postage, if you have email please send it so that we can email your newsletter.
Thank-you for your co-operation!! To all who have given us their email address, Thank-you!!!! |
