March 2, 2008 March Results Attendees : Mac Traven, Bonnie Lass, Black Jack Spencer, and West BranchWe met at West Branch’s home to work on building new props for staging guns and more ambience for the three day shoot.
March Notes We at 1:00 P.M. at West Branch’s home. We got right to
work on cutting out the new horse and mule with staging legs for the rifle and shot gun. We also have a saddle for keeping
the shotgun open. Thanks to Joanne for catching that we needed to lower the saddle to help the shotgun rest properly on the
saddle. We also made 2 cows for ambience. We went over the dinner for the Ambush at Hickory Ridge
which will have two main courses of stuffed chicken breast and sliced beef and gravy as well as mashed potatoes, gravy, corn,
baked beans and biscuits and cobbler. Soda and coffee to drink.Important Note: We will be recording procedurals starting
with our first match this spring!!! We will be counting the procedurals starting with the Ambush at Hickory Ridge in
August!!!!!! New Year and Ambush Posters The 2008 shoot schedule posters need to be distributed to all
your favorite haunts to attract more cowboys! Please help put up posters!!! We now have the Ambush posters ready to hang.
If you already have the 2008 posters up please go back and ask if you can hang the Ambush poster. Thank-you for all your help! With your help we can help Whispering Pines Cowboy Committee grow!!!!
9th Annual Ambush at Hickory Ridge We would like you to get your local merchants involved in sponsoring
our club. If you have anyone you wish would offer a gift certificate or prize, please contact them or if you are shy, contact
Bonnie Lass with the information (address and or phone number) and she will beg for you. (I have found that some major corporations decide their support in the first quarter of the year,
so if you have someone in mind, the sooner I have the information, the sooner it will go out and I may get us the prizes). Prize Donations The following prizes have been donated for the 9th Annual Ambush at Hickory Ridge: We have received 4 mouse pads from Tombstone, AZ, Donated by J.D. Dillon. Thank-you!!! We have received 10 15% off from Texas Jacks and 10 25% off on Texas Jack’s Boots.Thank-you!!!!! Found Ambush Cooks !!! Need Friday and Saturday day cooks. We have decided to go with Custom Catering out of Wellsboro to provide our Saturday night feast. Custom catering
will provide us with 2 entrees : stuffed chicken breasts, sliced beef , mashed potatoes and gravy, corn , baked beans
, rolls, cobbler, and sodas and coffee for $13 per person. This requires us to raise the cost of the shoot to $45 for
the first shooter, $35 for each shooter over 13 years old and each extra dinner only will be $13. (Buckaroos and younger will
cost $13 for their dinner.) We need to have a way to feed the masses the rest of the weekend. West Branch suggested that we take up propane
grills and make hot dogs and burgers on them. We could also offer soda and chips. Any ideas about breakfast on Saturday? If you have any other ideas or agree with this one, please let Mac and Bonnie know, through email or phone.
Next Shoot is April 6, 2008 If mother nature cooperates we will be meeting at the Whispering Pines Cap and Flint Club for our first shoot
of the year. We will be setting up on April 5, if Mac is available, and when completed those who come to help may practice
the shoot. We will start sign in at 8:30 AM and have the safety meeting at 9:30 AM. We will shoot lead at 10:00 AM. Please
come and join us for the April Shoot. We are trying to keep down the cost of postage, if you have email please send it so that we can email your
newsletter. Thank-you for your co-operation!! To all who have given us their email address, Thank-you!!!! |
